To do this, we had a daily offering collection. It was a boy versus girl contest where together the kids donated 44 pounds of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters! They raised $266 to help others. A big part of our VBS program was about recycling, and our challenge was to bring in a recycle item each day. We filled 6 recycle bins in four days. Great job kids!
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Outreach Ministry We have several outreach mission projects occurring for you to participate in. Maria: We continue to support Maria, a 7 year old from Colombia, South America with our donations to Children International. A collection container is in the back of the sanctuary for your donations. This summer, we will again have a table in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings to place your extra garden produce so that others may enjoy summer's harvest and help raise money for Maria's sponsorship. Look for our new picture of Maria and you can look through a notebook of Maria's letters and copies of our letters to her, as well as a list of gifts she and her family have received through our sponsorship.
Warm Up America: Once again we are participating in the Warm Up America blanket project with our 2010 blankets going to Harvest Home and Pine Valley Care Center. We collected over 300 knit or crocheted rectangles and joined them during the month of May. Nineteen blankets were completed. Thank you to all who participated with this project.
September School Supply Collection The City Mission, located on Carnegie Ave. has requested our help in collecting school suppliesfor the children in the poorest neighborhoods of Cleveland. Laura's House alone houses 30-50 children and teens and anticipates 50-60 more over the coming months. Supplies needed include: folders, notebooks, note paper, pens, rulers, pencils, erasers, crayons, chalk, scissors, and glue, backpacks, gently used children's shoes or gift cards for new shoes, or school uniforms. You may find more detailed information about this project at http://www.thecitymission.org/school-supplies-drive. There will be a box in the social hall to accept donations through September. Let's do what we can to give these at risk children the tools needed to boost their educational potential! Thanks for once again helping in this way.

Gathering Room Gallery Exhibit KATHLEEN KRAUS Kathleen’s artwork will be featured in the Gathering Room Gallery through September 30.I am a multi-media artist who enjoys traveling and expressing my experiences and adventures through my artwork and photography. My travels have been worldwide and include stories that have been part of the scenes and topics for presentations to groups. I have a B,S. in Education from Miami University in the field of Art Education and a M.F.A. from University of Akron. Archaeology is another interest, as I have been an illustrator for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Department of Interior specializing in reconstruction of the sites as they were in their time period. This has included large scale exhibit murals for the Cleveland College of Jewish Studies. The artwork represents areas of the world from Ohio sites, Ethiopia, Belize, New Mexico, Colorado and Israel. I have been an Art Teacher for over 40 years in Parma, Cloverleaf, and Medina City schools including courses in art for adult education. Two years ago I retired from teaching in the field I loved. Mural illustration is an on-going area of my artwork...many historical murals for exhibits, homes, restaurants, and schools. My work is in private collections, museum archives, public places, and I specialize in commissions. I have been inducted in Who's Who as an artist and teacher and a past president of Medina County Art League, Rocky River Jr. Women's League, and a member of numerous organizations and civic groups.

Men's Discussion Group 6:30 a.m. Wednesday Mornings in The Gathering Room Light refreshments and a weekly topic to discuss is the usual agenda. Women's Discussion Group 9:30 a.m. Wednesday Mornings We take turns coming up with a topic that deals with our lives and our faith. Sometimes just one word, like friendship, creates ideas to share. We don't prepare coffee or bake, we just arrive and converse. We meet from 9:30 am until 10:30 am every Wednesday. All are welcome.
Bell Choir New members are welcomed. No music experience is necessary; we are kind and have lots of patience. Adult Bell Choir Practice: Tuesday, 7:15 pm Children's Bell Choir Practice: 4th grade and up will meet on Tuesday from 6:15-7:00 am. Sharon is interested in starting a beginning class for adults. Contact the church office if you are interested.
The Serenity Prayer God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen -Reinhold Niebuhr
Keep
them in your prayers
